Black Hound have been involved with MIMSafe Sweden since 2014. At that time, the directors had German Shepherds training with the SES Search and Rescue unit. The weekly training involved a six hour round trip by car. At the training grounds it became evident that trying to contain the dog’s exuberance for their work was difficult. A combined weight of 80kg was constantly threatening to explode through the rear doors.
The search for a suitable travel crate began. With a policing background, it was important for Black Hound to secure products that were safe for dog and human alike. With first hand experience of products splintering during motor vehicle accidents causing damage to vehicle occupants the construction material and type was of utmost importance. It was also important to find a product that was not going to render the car useful for dog pursuits only. That being said, the product needed to be safe, removable and not require expensive modifications to be made to the vehicle.
